Europe 2019 – Travel Day

One neat sight was the full moon over Madrid but picture through the plane window didn’t do it justice.

Pre flight check

Surprisingly, our overseas flight was the easiest. The plane was huge! Thank goodness for the extra legroom!

Notice the distance to destination!
Post flight exhaustion

We were able to navigate through the airport to find our driver waiting for us. That is where our adventure began. Giovanni goes through the airport parking lot like we were in the Daytona 500. Weaving in and out all while checking his phone. Boom!

Hotel room in Rome is very nice. Took a quick nap to help with jet lag. Our favorite part of the day was going to City Center, walking a little and finding a square to people watch and enjoy a snack with a bottle of wine.

Vince’s observations: streets are narrow, cars are small and motorcycle and scooters darting in and out of traffic.

De’s observations: Europeans dress up much more than we do. The only leggings I saw were in Americans. Love the cobblestone streets and the live music. Also, birds speak the same language as back home.

People we met: A nice couple from Wisconsin celebrating their 50th anniversary. At lunch, we met a couple from NYC. Actually, everyone at lunch was from “the States” as they put it here. Also met a couple from Australia on a 53 day tour. Who can do that?
