Europe 2019 – When in Rome

What an incredible city! Three glorious days exploring all the wonderful offerings of Rome.

We used all methods of travel available. Taxi (most expensive), subway, shuttle and bus. Ok, we didn’t take the horse drawn carriage or the motorcycle but considering the crazy driving, neither would be safe.

We have met so many people along the way. Our tour group includes couples like Melissa and Paul from Winnipeg, Johnny and Dusty from Oregon, JoAnn and Craig from our own Des Moines. Two of our favorites are Jenny and Rosetta from Harlem. On the first night of our Globus tour, were enjoyed a five course meal (six if you count the wine) at Restaurante de Mino where we were serenaded in romantic Italian love songs.

Always close to home. Yesterday while relaxing by the pool, two ladies who asked if we were from the “States” as we are referred to in Europe. We were surprised to learn that they were traveling from Minnesota and had just gotten off a Mediterranean cruise. It was so fun talking with them and sharing our favorite locations with them.

Today we make our way north to Venice. The Italian countryside is lush, mountainous and beautiful. So blessed to share this with my sweetie. More to come.
