Med Cru 2025 – Day 4 – Marseille

Our first stop is Marseille, France which is the second largest city in France and the largest port. Beautiful landmarks that we saw but didn’t get a picture of as it was too far away was the Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde or La Bonne Mare which is a statue of a woman (we assume Mary), holding a baby watching over the city. We also saw the Chateau D’If which is an island made famous by the Count of Monte Cristo. There really was a prison there at one time.

We took a tour of Aix de Provence which is a smaller town outside of Marseille. Our tour included a wine and cheese tasting (right up Vince’s alley) and free time in a beautiful outdoor market. We did a walking tour and saw some cool things including an old church that had so much detail and artistry. The church was open for tours but they were busily preparing for services in recognition of the death of Pope Francis.

Again, our dinner on board was fantastic! De even tried caviar!

Vince’s dinner got us laughing as we imitated what his lobster was saying including “Here’s looking at you kid” and “Mom, he’s looking at me!” Fun to laugh and giggle in a fancy dining room!

There really were eyes looking at him.
De’s scrumptious veggie stir fry

We finished off another beautiful day with a quiet soak in the hot tub.

Wrinkles will be back again tomorrow!
