Med Cru 2025 – Day 5 – Cannes, France “Sacrebleu”

Bonjour!

My dusty french speaking self can’t help but love any chance I can get to visit France.

Vince dusted off his mad French speaking skills and took on the phrase “sacrebleu” which is a French insult indicating astonishment or anger. Can you imagine the nicest guy in the world walking around saying “Sacrebleu”?!

Originally, Vince and I had a tour to Nice on our agenda but we opted instead to go it on our own and walk the streets (and hills) of Cannes.

One unique thing about this stop was that the water was not deep enough for us to come directly to shore, so we had to “tender” to shore which means a smaller boat comes along our big ship and we jump (ok, walk) to the tender which takes us ashore.

Our tender

While we walked plenty of miles, we did so at our own pace, stopping to people watch and even enjoyed a smoothie and a crepe along the seaboard.

Yummy!

We found the theater where they have the red carpet and hold the Cannes Film Festival each year. There was handprints in the sidewalk but couldn’t tell who was who. Lots of hype for little return but it was fun.

We took a tour train to a great vantage point of Cannes. Here’s some of the pictures:

Beautiful day in sunny Cannes. Okay, one more for the road – Sacrebleu!!!
